Losing my hair

There is such a big difference between 'cutting ones hair short because one has to' and 'losing ones hair'.
I knew it was coming, but did not expect it to come that quickly. 2 weeks to the day, after the first chemo session. That alone proves everything I believe. How much poison does it take for every hair on your body to fall out within 14 days of being pumped full of chemo???

It started at breakfast, ( not strictly true, I had a coffee whilst sitting behind my lap top) and touched my hair. As I took my hand away, I saw a hand full had come off. I touched it again and more came out. I remember saying to Geoff,  'it is happening, it's falling out'

It took 30 min to pull out what is shown on the table. By that time, I looked like a scruffy mutt.
I could not leave home looking like this.
Geoff was more upset than me and left to
go for a walk. I can understand this, watching
your wife literally pull her hair out, must be
upsetting. After he left, I took the only pair of
scissors I could get hold of and started to chop
my hair off. It actually felt quite liberating.
I decided there and then, that I would make a
pretty bad hair dresser. 'Chopping' was definitely
the correct terminology, there wasn't much cutting going on. Once I could cut no more, because I could not get close enough to the skin, I took Geoff's razor and started shaving. Now that really hurt! Looking into the sink I would not believe how dark my hair was. I can only
assume that the chemo changed the colour?
